Meadow Poem

The beauty of the moment, oh so rare
Sinking in its breathtaking flair

And as they sat there, vowing their love
The sun was glistening from above
The wind echoed the promises they made
Blowing away their supposed fate

The predator fell, so hard, so deep
For his prey, the trusting sheep
And the lamb, with beating heart
Told him she never wanted ever to part

From him, this moment, his cold skin
His venom breath, the sweetest sin,
She craved to be close, he needed to be
But her blood wanted his senses free

The twist inside him made him feel
That this love was meant to be real
He longed to kiss her burning lips
Touched them with his finger tips

Looked with anxious golden gaze
Into her loving longing face
And restrained the need to bite
Embraced her with his arms, so tight

Felt the warmth and felt her shiver
The flow of emotions, an intense river
But soon she stilled and fell shy
As he hummed her lullaby.

And they rested side by side
Until the sun declared twilight
The lion of himself now sure
The devotion between them oh so pure

She smiled and let him kiss her mouth
His tongue cool, gliding south
Over her throat and back to her chin
Tasting all of her heated skin,

Memorizing what was now his
Smiling after their first kiss
And so it happened that they found
True love onto the meadow’s ground.
